Brianne West, the CEO and Founder, launched Ethique in her kitchen in 2012 when she began experimenting with solid shampoo bars. Today, Ethique boasts a wide range of over 100 products.

Our Mission

We're on a mission to revolutionize the cosmetics industry and regenerate our planet through business. Helping to rid the world of single-use plastic bottles is just one part of that.

As of 2021, we have saved over 20 million single-use plastic bottles from being made or disposed of in landfills around the world, over 3 million gallons of water from being wasted, and have planted over 350,000 trees. This is only the beginning!

Small changes in product size and weight lead to lower carbon emissions. We created Compact by Design to identify products that, while they may not always look very different, have a more efficient design. With the removal of excess air and water, products require less packaging and become more efficient to ship. At scale, these small differences in product size and weight lead to significant carbon emission reductions.

Calming Shampoo Bar: Itchy or dry scalp got you down? Our lime-scented, soap-free bar gently cleanses away your scalp woes with a rich lather. A blend of oils and soothing oatmeal helps calm and nourish the scalp. Great lather!

Nourishing Ingredients: A powerful blend of neem and karanja oils, renowned for their healing properties in Ayurvedic medicine, soothing oatmeal to calm dry scalps, cocoa butter, and coconut oil, all provide softness and shine to your hair.

Save Money & the Planet: Each shampoo bar lasts at least 80 washes, equivalent to three bottles of liquid shampoo. To use, stroke the bar down wet hair – it will lather!

Plastic Free: This bar has recyclable, home-compostable packaging. Simply tear up the box and pop it in your compost bin or bury it in your garden to return nutrients to the soil.

Ethical & Sustainable Ingredients: Formulated using vegan, cruelty-free, palm oil-free, paraben-free, and renewable ingredients, sourced from sustainable producers paid a fair wage.
